Is everything as it seems?
Home and Away is lining up devastating scenes for Alf Stewart as he’s forced to accept that his beloved daughter Roo may be dead.
Alf is about to take centre stage in a huge storyline as Roo disappears in sinister circumstances – and the stakes couldn’t be higher as he starts to fear the worst.
Roo’s disappearance plot has already begun on Australian screens, while viewers in the UK will see the drama kick off over the next three weeks as the show builds to its end-of-year finale on Channel 5.
In this week’s Australian episodes, police sergeant David Langham awaits forensic reports on a body which has been found in connection with the tragic case.
His investigations at the crime scene lead him to chat to a passer-by, who claims that he saw Roo chatting to a hitchhiker shortly before she disappeared.
While this talkative witness also seems suspicious, David lets his guard down as the stranger explains that his wife has died. David feels a connection with him, reflecting on his own loss, so he ignores the red flags.
This proves to be David’s first major mistake in the case. Later, we see the dodgy man watching a news report about Roo’s disappearance before pulling out a hammer with dried blood on it. Has he killed Roo?

As the week continues, Summer Bay gathers to hold a vigil in Roo’s honour. Before long, Alf breaks down as he accepts Roo’s apparent death for the first time.
He’s then joined by Justin Morgan and Leah Patterson as he lays flowers at the crime scene.
Jeremy Lindsay Taylor, who plays David, told TV Week: “The people of Summer Bay are devastated by the apparent passing of Roo, one of the most loved and respected people in the community.
“Tears are shed, hearts broken. David feels deeply responsible. He feels a failure.”

Later in the week, Alf visits the police station to check in for updates on Roo’s fate. David confirms that he has an answer, but is it good news or bad?
UK fans won’t see these scenes until early 2027, as the show will take a Christmas break on Channel 5.
However, die-hard fans are already aware that Georgie Parker – who plays Roo – hasn’t left Home and Away and the current saga isn’t the last we’ll see of her…
