The drama in Weatherfield has hit an all-time low. In the latest Coronation Street episode available on ITVX (Wednesday, July 1), Megan Walsh pulled off one of her most manipulative stunts yet, leaving the Driscoll family reeling and the courtroom in absolute chaos.
As Ben Driscoll took the stand, his case was already on shaky ground. With Will having previously told the court that he invented the entire relationship, Ben struggled to make his voice heard against Megan’s calculated defense. When Adam challenged Ben during cross-examination, suggesting Will’s struggles were merely due to his move from Hull, Megan saw her opening and pounced.
In a move that left the courtroom stunned, Megan painted Ben as an overbearing, damaging father. Exploiting Ben’s history as a former rugby player, she claimed his intense pressure and expectations caused Will to break down. Then, she delivered the final blow: a shocking claim that Will had confided in her about having suicidal thoughts.

The effect on the Driscoll family was immediate and devastating. Ben erupted in court, shouting that Megan was lying before the family fled the courtroom in distress.
Back at home, a stunned Will vehemently denied Megan’s claims, insisting he had never experienced thoughts of suicide. The guilt is now mounting for Will, who later confessed to Tim Metcalfe that he had severely damaged his own case by lying about the nature of his relationship with Megan.
As confusion spreads through the family and Will begins to realize the true extent of Megan’s manipulation, one question remains: Is Megan’s desperate bid to stay out of prison finally starting to unravel, or has she successfully turned the jury against Ben?
