Eagle-eyed viewers noticed something on the Logies red carpet – and it led to questions being asked.
Just a year ago, a radiant Lynne McGranger donned a gold gown as she stepped on stage to accept the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian TV.
The star – who had been on Home and Away for more than three decades before taking the trophy as she prepared to leave the show – said she was “blown away” by the accolade.
Fast forward to the 2026 Logie Awards, and Lynne was nowhere to be seen, and neither were a slew of her former Home and Away castmates.
Indeed, while the hit Channel Seven show remains the most successful Logie Award recipient of all time, it failed to receive a single nomination in 2026 – something Lynne later described as “sad”.
Now, an insider has claimed the awards snub wasn’t the only reason there wasn’t a full house of Home and Away-ers at the TV’s night of nights.
“Obviously, their lack of nominations meant that lots of the cast didn’t want to attend — it was a big deal, and many felt disappointed about it.” the source claimed to Chattr. “But I don’t think that was the only reason some of the big names didn’t attend.
“There’s been a feud brewing between some of the cast members, so it makes sense that they wouldn’t want to be posing on the red carpet together or be in the same room.”
Regular Logies attendee Nicholas Cartwright was missing from this year’s event, as was Ethan Browne and Ally Harris.
Home and Away stalwart Ray Meagher – who plays Alf Stewart – was also not in attendance, although long-time cast members Emily Symons, Ada Nicodemou and her fiance James Stewart did attend.
“Why doesn’t the whole cast get to go?” one viewer asked on Instagram.
“Missing quite a lot of the cast, weird they didn’t go,” another mused.
It should be noted that Home and Away boasts a cast of around 20 actors, so it would be unusual for the entire cast to be present for any event.
Additionally, it’s understood that some cast members were on pre-planned holidays at the time of this year’s Logie Awards.
When asked about the “feud” claim, a spokesperson for Seven told Woman’s Day, “We don’t comment on speculation”.
However, it’s not the first time that rumours of disquiet behind the scenes of the long-running drama have emerged.
One former Home and Away star previously told Woman’s Day “the whole place is toxic”, declaring, “You speak to any former H&A cast member or crew and they’ll say exactly the same thing.”
In an April episode of the Cracking On podcast – presented by former Home and Away stars Sam Frost and Sarah Roberts – the hosts and Lynne McGranger discussed the reality of starring in one of Australia’s biggest TV shows.
At one point, Lynne went as far as to say there was a time she felt like she was “bullied” on the set of Home and Away.
Lynne was a theatre actress before she landed the role of Irene Roberts on the show back in 1993. She said the first couple of years were hard.
“I really did struggle to fit in because there was this assumption I knew what I was doing, and I didn’t have a clue,” the star explained.
“I felt like I didn’t fit in for quite a while,” she added. “You girls possibly felt the same?”
The question led Sam – who landed the role of Jasmine Delaney after appearing on reality show The Bachelor – to divulge details of her own difficult experience.
“When I started I wasn’t an actor and I had a lot of pressure on me,” Sam shared.
“It was awful, it was awful…”
“It’s really hard when you’re in an environment with established actors and I think I was chasing my tail the whole time I was there, trying to prove that I was able to do it,” she said.
In the same interview, Sam also revealed that there were some people on the cast “I don’t miss at all”, leading her podcast co-host Sarah – who was formerly married to co-star James Stewart – to look her way and laugh, “Me too”.
“You miss some people more than you miss others,” Lynne admitted.
“You bond naturally with some people. It’s like any walk of life. I think people assume you’re best buddies with everybody and it doesn’t work like that.”
