That’s exactly what’s about to happen in a gripping new storyline that sees Levi fighting for his life after a horrifying accident strands him in the remote Blue Mountains, miles from help and completely cut off from the outside world.
What began as a laid-back boys’ trip into the wilderness is about to spiral into one of the show’s most nerve-shredding rescue missions yet — and this time, there’s no guarantee everyone comes home safe.
A Wrong Step, A Terrifying Fall
Levi (Tristan Gorey) is out camping with his mates Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) and Mali (Kyle Shilling) when disaster strikes without warning. The ground beneath him crumbles, and in an instant, he’s gone — plunging down a rocky cliff face while his friends watch on, powerless to stop it.
By the time Cash and Mali scramble to the edge, Levi is lying below, unconscious and bleeding. There’s no ambulance coming. No phone signal. Just two mates, a rope, and a race against time.
A Desperate, Makeshift Rescue
With nothing but basic gear and pure determination, Cash makes the call to abseil down to Levi using whatever equipment they have on hand. Mali anchors the rope to a nearby tree, bracing himself to take on Cash’s full weight as he lowers himself toward his injured friend.
When Cash finally reaches him, Levi is conscious — but in absolute agony. His arm is pinned beneath a heavy boulder, and worse still, he’s already starting to lose feeling in his hands. Every second matters now.
In a gut-wrenching moment, Levi tells Cash exactly what needs to happen: move the boulder. He knows it’s going to hurt — badly — but leaving it in place could cost him his arm entirely. There’s no easy option here, only the least terrible one.

While Cash battles to free Levi, Mali is sprinting through the bush, desperately searching for higher ground and, more importantly, phone signal. Every wasted minute could be the difference between life and death for Levi — and Mali knows it.
The Phone Call That Changes Everything
Back in Summer Bay, life is carrying on as normal. Mack (Emily Weir) is having a relaxed lunch with Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) and Abigail (Hailey Pinto) when her phone rings — and the world stops.
Levi is in hospital. It’s touch and go.
Mali managed to get a message out just in time, but as Mack rushes to the hospital, she’s about to learn that reaching help was only half the battle.
Saved — But At What Cost?
At the hospital, the news is a mixed bag of relief and dread. Doctors believe they can save Levi’s life. His arm, however, is a different story — and given that Levi is a surgeon, his hands are everything to him.
Actor Tristan Gorey didn’t hold back when discussing just how life-altering this could be for his character, telling TV WEEK that even if the arm is saved, Levi may never regain full use of his hand — a devastating possibility that could change the trajectory of his entire purpose in the Bay.
Levi may have survived the wilderness, but it seems his toughest battle could still be ahead of him.
Behind the Scenes: A Blast Despite the Danger
Even with such a dark and dramatic storyline, Tristan revealed that filming the cliffside rescue with his co-stars was genuinely thrilling. Safety was never compromised — the cast had safety lines secured throughout filming, backed by a careful and attentive crew.
But beyond the safety precautions, there was pure excitement too. Tristan admitted the actor in him relished every moment of shooting in such a jaw-dropping real-life location, turning a harrowing on-screen ordeal into an unforgettable experience behind the camera.
