There are boys’ trips… and then there’s whatever is about to happen to Cash, Levi, Mali and Tane in Home and Away’s explosive mid-season finale — because what starts out as laser tag and light-hearted rivalry ends with someone plunging off a cliff edge, no phone signal, and a desperate fight to survive.
Summer Bay is bracing itself for one of its most dramatic cliffhangers in years, and it all began, innocently enough, with a raffle prize.
A Prize Package With Unexpected Consequences
At last week’s surf club fundraiser, Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) walked away with the night’s star prize — a two-day adventure package for himself and three mates, complete with laser tag, rock climbing and archery. Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) opted out early, and Mali (Kyle Shilling) jumped at the chance to fill one of the spots.
But it was a quieter moment that set the real story in motion. When Levi (Tristan Gorey) confessed he’d nearly bid on the same prize himself, Eden clocked that something wasn’t right with her brother.
The truth soon came out. With Mackenzie (Emily Weir) away at a catering expo as she tries to heal from their heartbreaking miscarriage, Levi has been left adrift — and his attempts to reconnect with people at the fundraiser fell painfully flat. After one too many drinks, a vulnerable Levi admitted to Mali and Abigail (Hailey Pinto) that he was terrified Mac might be the only person he had left in his corner.
It was enough to move Eden to act. She urged Cash to invite Levi along on the trip — and though he wasn’t exactly enthusiastic about it, Cash agreed.
When “Feeling Sorry For Him” Backfires
Here’s where things get messy. Levi quickly worked out the real reason behind his invitation — pity, not genuine friendship — and it left him furious at being treated like a charity case. That resentment didn’t stay behind in Summer Bay. It followed him, Cash, Mali and Tane (Ethan Browne) all the way to their getaway.
What follows is a full-blown, ego-fuelled rivalry, with Levi determined to prove once and for all that he can go toe-to-toe with his brother-in-law. It starts with an archery face-off — Levi challenges Cash to a best-of-three, and things escalate fast from there, spilling into the tree-rope course and a fiercely competitive round of laser tag, with Mali and Tane thoroughly entertained on the sidelines.
“Levi is able to step up to the challenge and doesn’t mind a little friendly competition, especially after everything that’s happened,” actor Tristan Gorey told TV Week. “But Cash and Levi come pretty close to being at each other’s throats.”
A Decision That Changes Everything
Rather than calling it a day, the group makes a call that will haunt them — they decide to extend the trip, camping out overnight and setting off on a bushwalk the next morning. Nobody back in Summer Bay has any idea where they are.
As the sun climbs higher and the group pushes further from civilisation, the warning signs start stacking up. No phone signal. Rough terrain. And a growing unease that only Levi seems willing to voice.
“A little distraction during this time goes a long way… but what unfolds next, nobody will see coming,” Gorey teases cryptically.
Levi questions whether they should turn back. He’s dismissed. And that decision proves fatal.
The Fall That Changes Everything
As the men press on into more dangerous terrain, one of them strays too close to the edge of a cliff. The ground gives way without warning — and in a heart-stopping instant, someone plummets to the depths below.
With no phone signal, no help nearby, and no one back home aware of where they even are, the remaining men are suddenly thrown into a desperate, terrifying scramble to save their friend’s life.
So — who falls? And do they survive?
Fans are going to have to sit with that question for longer than usual. The episode airs as a cliffhanger, with Home and Away then taking a short break to make way for Seven’s Commonwealth Games coverage.
“Someone does slip and fall,” producer Lucy Addario confirmed to the Blue Mountains Gazette. “It’s then a race against time when we return [to air after the Commonwealth Games] to rescue someone. It’s absolutely must-watch TV, and I hope the Blue Mountains community are happy with what our story does because I think it will attract tourists to explore the area.”
It’s a cliffhanger with real stakes — and one that’s sure to have fans debating every possibility until the show returns.
Meanwhile: Harper Finally Sees Beau For Who He Really Is
While the boys are risking their lives in the bush, back in Summer Bay a very different kind of danger is unfolding — and it’s just as unsettling.
Harper (Jessica Redmayne) has spent weeks blind to the truth about her boyfriend Beau (Blake Richardson), who’s been secretly dealing steroids — including to her own flatmate, Sonny (Ryan Bown). Despite mounting red flags, Harper’s continued to believe she’d found someone genuine.
That illusion is about to shatter.
After reluctantly agreeing to install a location-tracking app so she and Beau could monitor each other, Harper unknowingly triggers his fury when a trip to see Marilyn (Emily Symons) with baby Archie takes her off the “expected” route.
“You can drop the act and tell me the truth,” Beau snaps at her in a chilling new promo. “I know you’re lying.”
Harper’s stunned by the intensity of his reaction — and when she tries to calm things down, it only makes things worse. Beau grabs her wrist and won’t let go, leaving a bruise behind as proof of just how far he’s willing to go.
“It isn’t until things turn dire that she finally has to accept this isn’t the fantasy she’d hoped for,” Jessica Redmayne told TV Week.
Harper manages to get away — but she has no idea she isn’t the only one suffering at Beau’s hands.
Sonny’s Secret Spirals Out of Control
In exchange for a steady supply of pills, Sonny has been strong-armed into dealing for Beau at the gym. But with Dana (Ally Harris) rarely leaving his side and Remi (Adam Rowland) growing increasingly watchful, Sonny’s struggling to make his “deals” without being caught out.
When he fails to deliver what Beau expects, the threats start again.
Things come to a head when Remi notices his credit card has gone missing and puts two and two together — Sonny’s erratic behaviour suddenly makes a lot more sense. Then Remi witnesses a heated clash between Sonny and Beau at the gym, and the full picture finally comes into focus.
“Remi finds Beau quite unsettling,” Adam Rowland told TV Week. “The aggression is taken to a whole new level.”
Furious and protective, Remi confronts Beau directly, threatening to tell Harper everything unless Sonny is let off the hook. But Beau isn’t the type to back down. Instead, he turns the tables — demanding a staggering $500,000 to leave Sonny alone.
A Proposal Nobody Sees Coming — For All the Wrong Reasons
Completely oblivious to the chaos closing in around her boyfriend, Dana has decided Sonny is the one — and she’s planning to propose.
She sets the scene, gets everything ready, and waits for him to arrive.
He doesn’t show up.
