Home and Away Spoilers: Richie Begs Rory For a Reference After Shooting Him — Will Rory Ever Forgive Him?

Summer Bay is dealing with the fallout of one shocking moment — and it’s tearing lives apart.

Richie Breslin never wanted to hurt anyone. But one accidental gunshot changed everything. Now, he’s lost the only job he ever loved, and the police commission has made its final call: Richie is no longer a cop.

“I can’t be a cop anymore,” Richie admits quietly, the weight of those words crushing him.

His best friend Abby tries to keep his spirits up, but Richie’s world feels like it’s falling apart. Job interviews go nowhere. His CV is embarrassingly blank — just school and a few odd jobs mowing lawns. Every employer asks the same painful question: why did you leave the police force?

Then comes a glimmer of hope — a possible bouncer job at a nightclub in Yabby Creek. But there’s one huge problem. Richie needs a professional reference, and there’s only one person qualified to give it: Rory. The very man Richie accidentally shot.

Terrified but desperate, Richie decides to swallow his pride and visit Rory, the officer whose life he changed forever.

“I need a reference,” Richie finally admits.

Rory’s reaction is instant and devastating.

“You shot me. You nearly killed me and left my daughters without a father,” Rory snaps, ordering him out of the house.

Heartbroken and humiliated, Richie returns to Abby, admitting defeat. “I’m screwed,” he says, realizing that without this reference, his dream job — maybe his last shot at rebuilding his life — could slip away for good.

But that’s not the only storm brewing in Summer Bay.

New doctor Amelia Carlisle has just stepped into town, covering for a colleague on leave after a heartbreaking miscarriage. Amelia quickly finds herself pulled into another family’s crisis when Lacey, David Langham’s worried daughter, reaches out in secret.

“I’m worried about my dad,” Lacey confesses.

David has been distant, sleepless, and on edge — and Lacey fears it’s more than just stress. Having seen PTSD affect her own sister after a car accident, she’s convinced her father is silently suffering… and refusing to ask for help.

Meanwhile, tensions are boiling over between Abby and Levi. A simple scrapbook, accidentally left behind, triggers a heartbreaking meltdown that makes it painfully clear — neither of them is as ready to move on as they thought.

With Richie’s future hanging by a thread, David hiding a possible mental health crisis, and Abby and Levi’s wounds reopening, Summer Bay is bracing for an emotional ride.

Will Rory ever forgive Richie? Can Amelia get through to David before it’s too late?

One thing’s for sure — Summer Bay’s drama is only just beginning. 👀
